They can be grown in full sun or semi-shade. Dietes look great mass planted and are a good foliage contrast plant. Fertilise in spring with a balanced general fertiliser.

The flowers are flat, light yellow with brown markings
The flowers only last for one day, but because so many buds are produced the plant is almost always in flower from spring through to summer
Ideal for use as an accent plant near ponds or at the sides of steps, pathways and entrances

Grows up to 1m in large clumps
White flowers with a yellow median mark in the lower half and violet style branches, each flower lasts several days
Effectively used in mass plantings, but is also effective in mixed plantings or used as an accent plant alongside a pond or some steps

Height 50cm
It has white flowers marked with yellow and violet, with six free tepals that are not joined into a tube at their bases
These flowers last only one day
The flowers are dainty and each bloom lasts a single morning
New flowers open continually during the flowering spell
The flowers are similar to those of grandiflora, but smaller, and the leaves are wider, resembling those of bearded iris
Do not remove flower stems as they continue to flower for several years
